چکیده

Deuterodon is a genus of the subfamily Stethaprioninae, group Neotropical fish known as tetras. hastatus represents species complex, which supported by cytogenetic and molecular data. In this study, we show results comparative evolutionary analyses ATP synthase subunit 6 gene in four species, addition to ribosomal markers (18S rDNA 5S rDNA), new population D. complex from Angra dos Reis/RJ region. The study comprised cytotype, refer cytotype D, hastatus, with 2n = 50 6M+8SM+8ST+28A. We obtained three different clades our phylogeny, one them composed only specimens By using clock dating, observed that radiation southeastern Brazil seemed be associated neotectonic events occurred during Miocene-Pliocene Pliocene-Pleistocene transitions, marked capture headwater streams marine transgressions. reinforce idea at least significant units were identified group.

Karyotypic diversity among three species of the genus Astyanax (Characiformes: Characidae).

The group Incertae sedis within the Characidae family currently includes 88 genera, previously included in the subfamily Tetragonopterinae. Among them is the genus Astyanax comprising a group of species with similar morphology and widely distributed in the Neotropics. Thus, the present study aimed to analyze the karyotype diversity in Astyanax species from different watersheds by conventional G...

Astyanax pirabitira, new species, is described from the upper portion of the rio das Antas, laguna dos Patos system, and from the rio Pelotas, upper rio Uruguay drainage, Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil. The new species belongs to the A. scabripinnis species complex and differs from its congeners by a combination of characters, viz., body depth (27.1-34.0% of standard length), narrow interorbit...

A new fish species of Roeboides from Panamá (Characiformes: Characidae).

A freshwater fish Roeboides loftini n.sp. is described from the Río Coclé del Norte drainage of the Atlantic versant of Panamá. The new species differs from other species of the Roeboides guatemalensis-group by the number of perforated scales on the lateral line (83-100), body depth (31.8-36.1%), predorsal distance (49.1-51.9%) and the shape of the humeral spot.

Knodus dorsomaculatus (Characiformes: Characidae), a new species from Teles Pires River, Tapajós River basin, Brazil.

Knodus dorsomaculatus, a new species, is described from Teles Pires River, a tributary of the Tapajós River, Brazil. It can be distinguished from its congeners by the presence of a conspicuous dark blotch on the base of the first five branched dorsal fin rays and the presence of ii,9 dorsal fin rays. Additional comparisons between K. dorsomaculatus and its congeners are presented.
